Member terms

We are pleased to have you as a Member in order to help you build and preserve your family community and history. We are Album2 AS with the Visiting Address: Urtegata 9, Oslo, and the Postal Address: Postboks 9386 Grønland, 0135 Oslo (Reg. nr. 987 031174).

The Editor of the service is Sveinung Dammen.

The use of the start version Album2 is absolutely free and there are no obligations to buy it.

Becoming a Registered Member automatically implies your acceptance of the following User Terms as agreement:

1. Album2's primary concern is to ensure the protection of your privacy on the Internet. In Album2, the content you provide, such as a file with photos, sound, text or video, remains your property. The content is strictly confidential and it will not be exposed to other companies or used for purposes outside Album2. This rule will be left unchanged by Album2 forever, so that you are always in control of the provided content.

2. Your content is not published on the Internet if you have not explicitly asked Album2 to do this, through your selected settings. Default settings give access to your family and friends. You are always in control over your photos. You can control in detail who will have access to view your photos, to edit them, to tag in them or to dowload them. If you grant download rights, the downloaded photos are out of the Album2 control. It is your responsibility to study how this access control works and to set the access level in accordance with your preferred choice. Album2 is not reponsible for the consequences of any configuration selected by you on your access settings.

3. If you change content that concerns other members, they will be informed about it. Likewise, you will be informed about the change of content that may concern you.

4. If you send photos from Album2, this is done in your name, similarly to other e-mail services.

5. As a member, you can order several types of printed copies of all the photos you have access to, together with other related products. Likewise, other members can order related products and printed copies of the photos you granted them access on. The photo prints and related products are made and delivered by quality laboratories, working under the same terms as Album2. In case of faulty products, you will get back your money spent on them, if you return them within 10 days and submit in writing the reasons of your complaint.

6. Album2 will only charge you after you have accepted the price. Currently you enjoy 100GB free photo storage. The charge will incur only for extra storage and your ordered products from our shopping cart. Album2 guarantees that your storage space already occupied for free will never be revoked due to the change of policy, or any other reasons, as long as it is used for private photos, and not for business purposes. For future use, Album2 may later reduce the unused free storage space to 1GB, after a warning notification. The free unused storage space exceeding 2GB may also be revoked.

7. Album2 accepts different payment modalities, including Mastercard and Visa, through our secure payment service.

8. Album2 has the right to block a member’s access to its services until outstanding amounts are paid in full.

9. Similarly to an Internet bank, all registrations and doings made after logging in (with your e-mail address and password) are supposed to be done by you. We strongly advise you not to share your password with anybody. It is advisable not to set the automatic logging in on any other computers but your own, and especially not public computers in public places! Album2 is not responsible for any consequences of situations in which your password is used by a third party as a result of your negligence. You must notify us on support@album2.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

10. Any compensation claimed as a result of possible mistakes or errors due to Album2 is limited to a sum a member has paid within the last 12 months.

11. Upon a member's passing away, his or her content will continue to be stored unaltered in Album2 database. The editorial access will only be given, if such decision exists, to the persons specified in the deceased's last will. Any claim to remove material from the deceased's content can only be made by the deceased's relatives acting together, unless it conflicts with the express will or intention of the deceased member.

12. Any content that the Album2 considers to be offensive, intrusive of privacy, or a copyright violation, will be inaccessible for the other members. You are solely resposible for the provided content and Album2 cannot be held responsible in case of any of the above mentioned situations.

13. Album2 reserves the right to send you informing e-mails, containing content relevant to you and ads.

14. Album2 has the right to change the terms set forth in this agreement upon one month's notification.

15. Album2 cannot be used for commercial purposes without permission from Album2.

16. Members who want to tag photos for public publishing on the Internet automatically accept the Additional Agreement regarding the conditions mentioned below.

Additional Agreement on the Conditions for the Use of Publishing Functions, like slideshow and open access

Album2 is not to be held responsible or liable under no circumstances for any content that members commit themselves to. Therefore, please remember to:

1. use Album2 for building and preserving your family (and friends) community and history
2. comply with good Internet ethics
3. comply with national laws
4. comply with the Album2 directions on how to set access level to your content
5. do not publish photos or information about private persons without their explicit consent
6. do not violate intellectual property law
7. do not use elements of pornography, campaign against ethnic groups or anything else that might be offensive or insulting for others' personal integrity
8. Album2 has the right to:
• remove content upon a person's request
• exclude a member for violating any condition(s) set forth in this agreement

The User Terms and the Additional Agreement will remain in full force and effect while you are an Album2 Member. You may terminate your Membership at any time, for any reason, by following the instructions from „My account”, the „Close account” option. Album2 may terminate your Membership at any time, without notification. Even after the Membership is terminated, the User Terms and the Additional Agreement will remain in effect.
